Watering is not a hard problem, it is an invisible one. Nothing tells you a plant is thirsty until it is drooping, and by then you have learned the wrong lesson and are probably about to overcorrect. A repeating calendar reminder helps for a week or two and then quietly becomes wrong, because it fires on a fixed cadence regardless of what you did or what season it is. Identification runs on device first and then against an online plant database for an exact species. The result sets up a watering interval, a feeding interval and, where relevant, misting, with the light, humidity and temperature the plant actually wants.

Adjust the interval if your home is unusual
The catalogue interval is a starting point informed by the species, not a rule. A dry centrally heated flat or a small pot dries faster. Change the number and the app uses yours.

Tick it off from Today, a widget, or by saying hey Siri, water the monstera. The next date is calculated from that moment, so watering early simply shifts the schedule rather than putting you permanently out of step.

Watering intervals stretch through the darker months based on the actual daylight where you live, per species, so growth-driven plants slow down while humidity-driven ones like ferns and calatheas barely change. You do not have to do anything.
Worth knowing before you start

How often should I water my houseplants?
It depends on the species, the pot, the room and the season, which is why a single answer is always wrong. Kounts Care starts from the species: roughly weekly for a monstera, every two weeks for a snake plant, every three days for a Boston fern, then stretches those intervals through winter based on the daylight where you live.
What happens if I water early?
Log it and the next date recalculates from then. There is no penalty and nothing to reset.
